“I am from England. I first heard of Robert through a friend of mine. He told me he’d really be able to help me to create music for the lyrics I had. But me being here and him in California, I just had no idea how that would happen. But anyway, a few months later we now have a whole album worth of songs that I am just so proud of. And more amazingly that we have been able to create just by communicating through email. So we’ve never met, and I can’t really say a huge amount about the studio itself right now. Anna traveled to Soundtek San Jose Studios from her home in England to do record her first album. I wrote her songs with her long distance then she flew in to do the albums recording.
“…I was completely amazed by how much we had done. We basically completed the songs in that first session. Robert was able to lay down all the tracks and to come up with a mysterious, cool feel. Exactly what I was looking for to convey the message. I was completely blown away by his ability to work so fast and to make all the parts fit so perfectly together. After that day I scheduled a session and worked on another song that was pretty hard to make everything fit and he did it again. I was really, really thrilled with the magic of working with him.
So after that, I decided to bring all of my songs to Robert for mixing and to basically complete my CD with him. Robert is not only a tech wiz, super engineer, he is also a fabulous musician on every instrument and he’s got that really great feel that allows him to understand what the person is looking for and he has a really, really sharp ear. I was very thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Robert and I look to bring him my new material.”

“When I met Robert I was very impressed with his professionalism and how he was able to record my song for me so quickly. He was 100% focused on the music. I was able to walk out of my first recording session with my completed song in my hand and be listening to that in the car on the way home. The biggest concern that I had was my vocals. I didn’t have any confidence in myself as a singer at all. Robert put me in touch with Thom Duell. He is the vocal producer a Soundtek Studios. I’ve been working with Thom and all the songs and he is amazing at what he does. He’s just able to portray my voice in the best light possible. I am so grateful for his coaching with my voice because I’ve really come a long way since I’ve been working with Thom. So that really good news, because now what I have is something that I can be proud to present to anybody who might be interested in hearing my music. I’ve been able to put up on the internet, at different sites, and I’ve been getting a really positive response back from people. Since I’ve working with Robert and Thom, I went from being a songwriter who was sort of singing and writing songs in the closet or in the shower, to being an artist with a career that I can represent myself as a serious recording artist. And, I’m very happy about that, because I had given up and now I realize that I don’t have to give up on my dream. “Recording our first album, ‘Holiday on Earth’ was a lot of fun and much of the final result was due to Robert’s efforts. Our second album, entitled D2 is a collaboration with my son Alex. Robert worked well with both of us on songs we had co-written, but more impressive was the way he worked with Alex who only started playing music a few years ago. It’s really amazing to watch a seasoned veteran and young musician create such outstanding music. Quite a few of the songs on this album were composed right before the studio sessions and were very rough. He made tremendous contributions to these songs. He suggested integrating sounds from various old and new artists, as well as his own ideas. Robert is like a magical musical encyclopedia of information and talent. Robert is not only my musical mentor but warm, fun loving, mischievous, inviting personality full of talent and invention.
